Charlie
Charlie was enjoying his day rooting in the freshly toiled soil. The man usually came out to feed him was upset
with him for being in his garden. The man went in and got his gun. He came outside and shot Charlie twice. The first bullet
went through Charlie's snout, mouth, throat, and lodged in his spine. The second bullet went through his leg. Charlie miraculously
hobbled into the barn where he laid in the hay for 4 days. Charlie was dying. Grace's Home was contacted and rushed Charlie to the
veterinarian. He had to have surgery to remove a bullet fragment lodged in his throat. He was on antibiotics for infection. He was
very close to death. When he came home to Grace's Home he received a lot of love and a special diet until he became well. He was fed
baby food, ice cream, pudding, watermelon, and other soft tasty foods. Charlie is now well and enjoys going on nature walks
and visiting with all his new friends at Grace's Home.
